Local AmeriCorps Positions for 2019-20

Positions available working with local youth!

  • Northfield Public Schools- Reading Corps (1 position available)

Reading Corps members will work directly with preschool or elementary students to build reading skills.  Training will be provided and there are multiple options for work location and the number of hours and ages of students.  The experience will lend well to those interested in careers in education. Potential openings include: Sibley Elementary, Bridgewater Elementary, Greenvale Park Elementary, Hand in Hand Preschool, Early Ventures and several other preschool age settings.

  • Faribault and Northfield AmeriCorps Promise Fellows (2 positions available)

Promise Fellows work directly with cohorts of 25-30 youth who are at-risk of not succeeding in school. Promise Fellows provide academic support and also connect youth with after school programs, mentors, and community service opportunities. Promise Fellows form significant connections with the youth in their cohort and have the chance to help change their lives. Potential Promise Fellow openings include the Northfield High School, the Northfield Area Learning Center, Faribault Middle School, and Faribault’s Jefferson Elementary School.
