2012 Youth Votes Results!

As part of their ongoing efforts to ensure a youth voice in the 2012 elections, the Mayor’s Youth Council hosted a “Youth Vote” on Friday, November 2, 2012, during the lunch hours at the Northfield High School.  A total of 399 youth, or roughly one-third of the student body, cast their votes in upcoming local, state, and national contests.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan (Republican) – 25.3%

Kurt Bills (Republican) – 18.3%
Stephen Williams (Independence) – 6.2%
Tim Davis (Grassroots Party) – 4.0%

John Kline (Republican) – 40.8%

Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to provide that only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Minnesota?
Yes – 16.2%
No – 83.8%

 

Constitutional Amendment 2
Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to require all voters to present valid photo identification to vote and to require the state to provide free identification to eligible voters, effective July 1, 2013?
Yes – 33.4%
