Have you ever heard?
You’re the only parent who…
Everybody else gets to…
Don’t you trust me…
It’s my life. Let me do what I…
If this sounds familiar, you’re probably the parent of an adolescent. We are parents who believe it takes a lot of courage to be a parent and it’s easier when you have the support of parents who share a similar vision.
Our Vision Includes
- Setting good limits for your children regarding curfew, dating patterns, overnights, etc.
- Working to create an atmosphere where the use of alcohol and drugs is not considered an “acceptable” or “normal” part of growing up.
- Agreeing that youth events you host will be chaperoned and free of alcohol and drugs and talking directly with other parents to ensure that events they are hosting will be chaperoned and free of alcohol and drugs.
- Communicating a clear “no use” message about underage use of alcohol or any use of illegal substances.
- Being a good role model for our children to help them learn about healthy, responsible behavior.
Our Goals Include
- Identify positive community norms for parents and promote them communitywide
- Provide resources and education to support parents
- Publish a Northfield High School and Middle School student/parent directory each year to facilitate communication among parents. PCN members will be identified in these directories with an *.
