Mentoring Facts
National research has shown the powerful impact of mentoring on youth. Researchers found that children who meet regularly with a mentor are:
- 52% less likely than their peers to skip a day of school
- less likely to skip class
- less likely than their peers to start using drugs
- 33% less likely to hit someone

| Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota Provides 1:1 relationships with caring and positive mentors. The program provides community-based and school site matches for kids who would benefit from an additional positive friend. |

| Connected Kids One to one relationships between students and caring adults. Matches meet at school before, during, or after school hours and continue through the summer. Mentors provide academic support, encouragement, friendship, and fun. |

| Mainstreet Mentors Community-based project pairing adult mentors with youth interested in learning about a topic. One to one mentors provide skill building opportunities and a positive connection with an adult. |
