Rice County Chemical Health Coalition

A coalition that strives to reduce youth alcohol and drug use through prevention activities and intervention services throughout the county

Mayor’s Task Force on Youth Alcohol & Drug Use

A city board to raise community awareness about local youth substance use and to make recommendations for community interventions to reduce youth use

Mayor’s Youth Council

High school juniors and seniors appointed by the mayor and city council to provide youth input into civic affairs

PRIMEtime

A collaborative of free after school and summer enrichment programs for Northfield youth; provides out-of-school-time programming to more than 1,100 Northfield young people every year; program sites include PLUS, Middle School Youth Center, and the Northfield Union of Youth/The Key

Tackling Obstacles and Raising College Hopes (TORCH)

A collaborative effort to increase the graduation and postsecondary attendance rates of Northfield’s Latino, low-income, and ESL students, as well as young people who would be first-generation college attendees

Mentoring Coalition

A coalition of local mentoring programs that works to increase the number of Northfield youth who have the opportunity to have a caring adult mentor

Northfield Youth Sports Collaborative

A coalition that works to increase the involvement of low-income youth in local sports; helps to provide scholarships for participation and promotes youth sports opportunities among low-income children

 

Growing Up Healthy

A coalition working to support local low-income children ages 0-5 and their families and to enhance community connectedness among low-income communities within Rice County; as one of its primary initiatives, the coalition trains and supports groups of neighborhood leaders in three Rice County neighborhoods
